Fort LauderdaleThe Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) has announced its intention to better cater for the needs of trans travellers following a pioneering new study. The popular beachside destination commissioned the survey, completed by over 700 self-identified members of the American trans community, earlier this year.

Thought to be the first of its kind in the US, the study sought to identify the ‘travel motivations, needs and priorities of the [trans] market,’ and has thus inspired the GFLCVB’s ‘Transgender Travel Initiative.’

The organisation will be training its members, as well as local hospitality leaders and the wider community, on how to be more sensitive to trans tourists through roundtable discussions and meetings.
