Seeing LGBT Manchester Like a Local
Faye Evans profiles Manchester’s prettiest sights, cheapest eats and most homo-electric bars.
I’ve lived here since…
1988! With an 11 year hiatus in Leeds, Brighton and London. (I moved back in October last year, and have no plans to ever leave again!). I stayed because Manchester is my home. My oldest friends are here, and it pretty much has everything I want and need.
My favorite queer bar has to be…
The Molly House. The atmosphere’s relaxed and unpretentious, so you get a good mix of people. It’s not exclusively gay but I’d also recommend Trof in the Northern Quarter, which also has a great food menu and plenty of space to kick back and take it all in. If you’re after a club night, I’d plump for Homoelectric at Antwerp Mansion.
