Seven Things You Might Miss on Gran Canaria
Gay tourists to Gran Canaria are loyal – a fact that will soon be illustrated with Maspalomas Pride around the corner (it takes place from 8-17 May).
But how many of said tourists miss out on the best this sun-kissed Atlantic island has to offer?
I asked every gay tourist I met there how often they visited – ‘every year’, ‘seven times in three years’ and even ’11 times in four years’, they said. But few have ever left the gay holiday area of Maspalomas.
With year round sun, it’s tempting to spend the day by the pool or on the gay beach before hitting the slightly tacky, but incredibly friendly, bar and club scene. Then wake up hungover and do it all again.
