The idyllic and gay-friendly Swiss resort of Arosa invites you from January 22 to 29, 2022 to its fun-filled LGBT ski week. Since 2005, this lively and colorful week has become one of the biggest LGBT winter events in Europe.
Arosa has always been a gay friendly destination. The rainbow flag flies proudly in the centre of the town all winter, not just during gay ski week. Diverse guests flock together from all over the world to partake of skiing, socializing, and assorted activities.
In this pristine environment is the possibility of making new friends and even maybe meeting your perfect match in the storybook picturesque alps.
The resort itself offers top-notch facilities, excellent service, and friendly staff 24/7. During this week, so-called Snow Hosts will be taking groups and guiding them on the slopes to ensure that they have a fantastic and safe time.
Are women welcome?
Yes, lesbians, bisexual women and queer gals also share the slopes and the resort with the guys. Remember, lesbians are an outdoorsy bunch so you're sure to have fun together in this charming mountain resort.
As with many LGBTQ events, women tend to be in the minority unless it's a women-centric event, so be sure to make the ones you meet feel welcome as you ski and party together.
All Arosa's events during the week are mixed in terms of gender, but some are more geared towards women such as an evening organized in partnership with the Rainbow dancers from the TanzBAR in Bern. Among the women staffing the week are DJs, performers, and women guides for those who prefer to ski in a lesbian group.
Where is Arosa?
Arosa is situated on a wide sunny plateau in the middle of the Swiss Alps at an altitude of about 1800 meters. The tradition-rich holiday resort is easily accessible by road or train with quick and hourly transfers from Zurich Airport.
The winter sports region of Arosa Lenzerheide offers one of the biggest and most accessible ski areas in Switzerland. There is over 225 km of runs spread over two beautiful valleys with three sunny sides, as well as a 50 km freeride area and a fun snow park for you to enjoy.
Arosa’s skiing has a modern and well-designed lift system: 43 transport facilities will take you to altitudes of up to 2865 m a.s.l. The trail network, largely above the treeline, is crowned by the Weisshorn and the Rothorn, from the top of which there are spectacular views all around. The slopes in the ski area are suitable for all levels of difficulty, whether you are a beginner or an outstanding skier. More information and slope report on www.arosalenzerheide.swiss
