Hepburn at Hepburn Villas

Hepburn Springs is a historic village located in the middle of the largest concentration of mineral springs in Australia. The natural springs are full of health-giving minerals and every spring has a distinctive taste. The village enjoys a reputation as a very cosmopolitan community. Enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes and restaurants along Main Road or a beer at the  historic local country pub. You can catch some great live music at the Palais or look for gifts, local produce, plus arts and crafts in one of the many unique shops and small galleries. Take the Historic Village Walk and discover the splendid architecture of many public buildings. Hepburn Springs is becoming increasingly well-known for its resident masseurs and holistic therapists. Indulge in hydrotherapy, massage, and beauty therapy at one of the numerous day spas and wellness centres or book an in-house massage. Hepburn Springs is just over one hour from Melbourne on the Western Freeway and Midland Highway.

Spacious Villas

Designed and developed in 2010 by award winning architect David Edelman, these spacious, one bedroom, 5 star villas, offer every conceivable luxury for those seeking the best accommodation Hepburn Springs has to offer. Hepburn at Hepburn villas provide the most stylish and sophisticated accommodation to be found anywhere in Daylesford. In designing the interiors of Hepburn at Hepburn’s villas, David Hicks has created a private sanctuary of luxury and comfort. The feel is that of a luxury hotel room, but the conveniences are those of a self-contained villa. These villas feel rich and warm, with deep burgundy rugs and sofas, dramatic nero marquina marble, black gloss furniture, and dark timber. The other villas use the fresh green of Hepburn Springs’ landscape to invigorate the senses and calm the mind, with deep green furnishings, crisp white finishes, and natural oak timber. The design shows sleek and elegant joinery, feature fireplaces, custom-made sofas and bamboo armchairs, glass-walled bathrooms, and quirky elements such as Chinese ceramic drums used as bedside tables. Practical elements such as dishwashers and refrigerators are concealed. Lighting creates a dramatic environment at night.

Exquisite Decor

Each villa has a secluded north facing deck, overlooking the forest. All villas include a sleek glass-walled bathroom with spa-bath, fully equipped kitchen with a marble benchtop, mirrored splashback, concealed refrigerator and dishwasher, and Miele convection oven. The villas are also fitted with  42-inch flat-screen TVs, CD/DVD players with iPod docks, another TV in the bedroom, cantilevered desks, wireless broadband, and air-conditioning. The built-in sound system includes a speaker above the marble-clad spa bath.

Rooms With A View

Leading landscape designer Jack Merlo has created a contemporary retreat that sits quietly within the surrounding bushland. Ornamental species create bold, sculptural forms around the villas, gradually giving way to plants indigenous to the Hepburn Springs region. Jack has used strong geometric lines and a restrained materials palette of dark stone and timber to complement the villas’ clean, modern architecture. The result is gardens that are as exquisite as the villas themselves.

The Hepburn Springs and Daylesford region dedicates itself to offering experiences that soothe, relax and rejuvenate. Since 1895, people have been visiting Hepburn Springs and Daylesford for the healing properties of its mineral-rich waters. There are more than 60 natural mineral springs in the area. Of the many spa centres, the biggest, the best and the original is Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa, just across the road from Hepburn at Hepburn. The Bathhouse & Spa is newly renovated and visitors are now spoiled for choice with several indoor heated pools, spas and a 30-room day spa offering treatments such as private mineral baths, water therapies, massages, facials and body treatments.

If getting a little more active is part of your getaway, there are several options. Spot the kangaroo at Hepburn Springs Golf Club, explore the region on foot, bicycle or horse,  hire a boat to row on picturesque Lake Daylesford, or perhaps climb famous dormant volcano Hanging Rock.
