Bridgetown Sunset over Portland OR

Portland is known for its gorgeous surrounds and gourmet delights, among other things that attract tourists thirsty for craft beer and coffee and jealous residents of Washington state just across the state border.  It is home to a large number of independent microbreweries, microdistilleries and food carts that contribute to the unofficial slogan, “Keep Portland Weird.”

AKA as “The Rose City,” is ranked as one of America’s top five most livable cities – and the most eco-friendly city. Portland is a green, clean, open-minded city that still has a small-town vibe. It has the kind of energy and beauty that gets under your skin.

Portland is also where LGBT people go to thrive, thanks to the city’s vibrant arts and nightlife scenes, progressive politics and accepting attitude. Since May 2014, marriage is legal for all couples in Oregon.

Host to Pride Northwest and the Lesbian and Gay Film Fest, GLBTQ travelers should experience this gay-friendly city – not only for these events, but any time. There’s always something on.  And the regional stuff isn’t too shabby either, from Columbia River Gorge to Mt. Hood to the Willamette Valley of Vineyards.
